I slept!

Hello bloggy world!   Overall, my weekend went pretty good-we gathered with friends and family. I slept wonderful last night and didn't get up until 11 am. I have been fighting insomnia for almost 2 weeks and God has answered my prayer 2 days in a row now! Oh how stressful and exhausted you get when you don't sleep. Last night, I finished up all my Baby Shower invitations and a few thank you cards. Whew! I am mailing them out on Wednesday, but possibly Tuesday since I will be out in town. I am working on Baby Shower Decor today and hope to finish it.
Tomorrow I am having the 3D/4D ultrasound done and I am SUPER EXCITED! I cannot wait to see my little boy one more time before he arrives! My life is so full of excitement right now and the Hubs and I are so blessed. We have 10 more stressful weeks left and a lot to do!
Have you guys thought of what I should do for Mondays yet? I took Hubby Monday off and need something to fill in the gap! Please leave me a bloggy comment of leave a comment on the Stay at Home Wifey FB Page!

Random thought: I didn't know you could bust all your blood vessels in your face while pushing during pregnancy.

Can't Resist Thursday

Pizza Burgers
Each Burger is ONLY 250 calories!

Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 to 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp salt (I used sea salt)
3 oz low-fat mozzarella, thinly sliced (I just used shredded mozz)
1/2 cup marinara sauce (I used Emeril's roasted garlic marinara sauce)
4 whole-grain or whole-wheat hamburger buns

                 Directions:
  • Preheat grill to high heat (I used my George Foreman grill)
  • In a large bowl, mix the turkey, oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and salt until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into balls, packing them tightly as you do. Press each into a patty.
  • Grill the burgers until desired doneness and about 1 minute before they're done, divide the cheese slices among the tops and let melt.
  • Meanwhile, spoon the sauce into a medium microwaveable bowl. Microwave on low until hot (30 - 60 seconds). Place the bun halves, cut sides down, on an upper grill rack for 20 secs until toasted (I used the toaster).
  • Place each bun bottom on a serving plate, toasted side up. Place the patties, cheese side up, on top. Spread 2 tbsp of sauce on each bun top, flip atop the patties, and serve.

My best friend sent me this recipe and I couldn't turn it down! I will definitely be trying it this weekend and you should too! Please let me know what you think on my FB or leave a bloggy comment! Thanks Kalen!

Tick Season

EWW EWW EWW! Can you believe it?! It's already tick season! I frantically pulled a tick off MoJo last night and literally almost passed out! You know how some people have a "creature" fear? Well, mine is definitely TICKS and SPIDERS! EWW! I am tough as a nail, but you put one of them in front of my face-I'll freak! Anyway! I put gloves on and got to work by picking the head of the tick off. Then, he soaked in alcohol until he was dead-and then got flushed. Why did God make them? Are they useful for anything? EWW!

I am working on baby shower decor again today-exciting! The Hubs is off and spending the day with me, so who knows what we will end up doing. My plan is to go walking at one point today because I have been swelling and I need to keep in some what of shape.

Any of you watch American Idol? Who do you think will be sent home tonight? It's getting hard and not so predictable. I REALLY like Crystal Bowersox and would love to see her as our Next American Idol. I am thinking either Tim or Aaron could be going home, but what do I know? Let me know what you think on my FB page or leave a bloggy comment!

Boring Day

Ok, so I don't know if there will be any more Hubby Mondays. My husband doesn't seem interested in doing it anymore, so please let me know if you have any ideas for Mondays! Anyway, today has been pretty much a liad back day for me. I have been working on baby shower decor most of the day and it seems like I have gotten no where! My mom and I worked on it all day Sunday as well. It's super exciting though and it hasn't yet to stress me out. My weekend went by pretty slow-mainly because I was exhausted and haven't been able to sleep. Bentley is more up now-he kinda looks like a caterpillar in a cocoon.

Random thought: So what is up with Heidi Montag getting that nasty plastic surgery? Anyone with boobs that big and a face that stretched looks awful! Why is it necessary to have all that crap done to you?

My glucose test results came in and they are normal! So-no more worrying about my sugar. Over all I am a healthy eater and I figured my sugar would be fine. I just have a little sweet tooth :)

OB appointment

So this morning I had to go to my OB appointment-oh joy. I usually look forward to my appointments, but this morning I had to have my Gestational Diabetes test done. That sugar drink was the nastiest crap I have ever drank-probably in my life. I won't know my results until Monday or Tuesday of next week. Now, my weight is a different issue. I have gained 27 lbs in 8 weeks! I didn't gain one pound until 20 weeks and then BAM! I started tipping the scale! I am grinning and bearing it because God is blessing the Hubs and I with a beautiful blessing and life couldn't be more wonderful! After my appointment, I decided to go hang out with the Hubs at the station. Today has been a VERY exhausting day, so of course I ZONKED out on the couch, LOL. I guess the OB appt. and worrying myself to death wore me and the little guy out.
American Idol! I am an obsessed fan! During the beginning I thought that this season was the best, but I think I am second guessing myself. I like the contestants, but then again-I don't. My favorite is Crystal Bowersox and I hope to see her as our Next American Idol. I do believe and know that this season, we have more talented contestants than American Idol has had on the show. Well, I am hopping off-Speaking of American Idol, I have to get ready for it! Nite!

Hubby Monday a Day Later

Well I guess we will try this again. Hubby Monday tends to be over looked due to the crazy life we are living right now. We are quickly nearing the end of this 9 month wait we have had to endure. We are extremely excited and eagerly awaiting Bentley to get here. We are about to the point where we would be set if he was to come now.... We don't want that, well kinda, but we cat wait a little longer I guess.

Yesterday we spent most of our day at Babies R Us re-registering. Apparently when we did it the last time, it got mixed up. To our amazement, everything on our registry was girlie!! Bentley is not looking for anything pink, nothing against pink, just not for my son. After countless phone calls, redoing everything, and about ten password changes later we think that we have this all corrected. We wil also be accepting cash, Visa, and check donations. :)

Today we spent a few early hours trying to get everything worked out for me at Greenville Tech. I am one class away from my A.S. and I should have taken it a year ago. Well I didn't, and now I find out that somehow, somewhere I got enrolled for the class, and never took it. I am getting hit up for $500! Well there is no way we are looking to drop that kind of cash on nothing. I have about one person from every department looking to figure out what went on. I could seriously buy Bentley diapers for a year with that kind of cash. Regardless, I just need to get school over with, and figure out where I'm going next.

Things at home have been hectic, but amazing. Megan is looking more and more beautiful everyday! She is getting big and I love her belly. Lol I love watching her belly go crazy when Bentley decides to attempt to punch his way out of her belly. There are times I wish I could be home a little more. I have been working my normal 24/48 schedule, with an occasional extra shift or so. For those who don't know, I work EMS. Its not always the easiest profession to have when starting a family. I love what I do, I'm good at what I do, but its not so simple to walk away from in the blink of an eye. For instance, if I worked at Wal-mart and needed to leave work, they would not suffer in any way shape or form. If I jump off a truck with no one to cover me, well people may not fair to well. I guess I'm just going to make sure someone is ready to cover me when Bentley is ready to come knocking at the door.

Well work is calling me tomorrow, and we are watching New Moon for the 12,496th time. Ha Ha Ha Meg is addicted. I guess I kinda am getting there..... Team Jacob all the way... NOT!!! Ha Ha. Everyone enjoy your day, your week, and keep Meg and Bentley in your thoughts and prayers. She under goes her diabetes test tomorrow. It wont be a big deal, but I hear the drink is pretty rough. Good night to all.

Got AC?

If you live in South Carolina you know it's HOT! Spring is generally a little cooler and the pollen is awful this year! I am waiting for all the thunderstorms that are supposed to hit tomorrow-that way bye bye old pollen, hello new pollen. The Hubs went to take the Expedition to get the AC fixed this am and ended coming home with NO air! The mechanic is ordering some flapper part, so hopefully it will be in by Friday. I seriously didn't think that we would need AC in March/April, so we took our sweet little time procrastinating-boy was I wrong!

Yesterday, I spent about an hour organizing Bentley's clothes into piles and getting them ready to wash. Getting the clothes ready gets me SUPER impatient for his arrival and I feel like it's taking forever for the time to get here! Thinking about getting things ready, I am panicing! I just realized that we have 12 weeks to finish painting the house, fixing up our back yard, and getting ready for baby! Stressing!

Go away Pollen!

Hello Beautiful Tuesday, but irritating Spring! I feel like pollen has filled my brain and my nose keeps blowing junk out. As I am sitting here on the couch smacking my gum in a bad mood, I keep trying to think of happy thoughts. Why is this not working?! The Hubs worked his 24 and got home at 9 am-for some of you that don't know, he's a paramedic. Well, I had plans for today since it seems like he is NEVER home anymore. I had plans of going to get ice cream and walking Furman with the dogs. Scratch that off the list! Anyway, so I am stuck at home today sobbing about how bad my life sucks at the moment and how I am ready for Bentley to get here.
On the bright side, I need to start washing Bentley's clothes and getting things ready!  Yeah, I have 12 more weeks of feeling the little guy kick, but you never know when he will be ready. I had no idea how many changes my body will go through during pregnancy. Here lately, it's seems like it's been just me, the babe, and dogs watching the growth. Sometimes I wish Christian was around more, but I guess working extra hours doesn't hurt. My belly finally looks pregnant and I am deffinitely enjoying my top rack, lol. I know that I probably won't have the rack long, so I am going to enjoy it while I can. As far as swelling, it's just now starting. I think it's more of the heat that's doing it since it has sporadically started. Yeah, I tell people that pregnancy is not for me and how rough it is, I am actually enjoying it now. Of course I would rather have my bundle of joy in my arms, but God will soon bless me with that. Well, I am hopping off-need to sweep the kitchen. Ya'll have a wonderful bright sunny day and thanks for making me feel better today!

People Think Fat

Okay, do you want to know what annoys me the most? People who are obsessed with their weight. It doesn't matter if they are skinny, chubby, or big-most people are not satisfied with their bodies. Almost EVERYDAY I see on facebook certain people obsessing over their weight. You want to know something that's funny? Most of the people I see whining about their weight is people who are thinner than me before pregnancy. Yes! That is small. I don't understand why people worry about a little bit of meat on their bones-people who think they have to exercise constantly to feel happy about their weight, or people with eating disorders. WHO CARES. I understand people who are obese or pretty chubby need/want lose weight, but when you are small-why worry about it?

I actually feel bad for bigger people who try to lose and can't. I feel bad for them being big period. I really feel bad for them when they see or hear people talk about how they need to lose weight and how they are "fat..." How do you think that makes the larger person feels? If it makes me feel bad thinking about it, I know it hurts them. I have never understood this and I guess I never will, but people need to think about others and how they would feel. If you are desperate to lose weight, keep it to yourself, so the larger person doesn't hurt inside. People need to enjoy what they eat and not flip out about getting FAT over a piece of candy or a meal-Point blank.

Easter Sunday

Although Mondays are "Hubby Monday" days, I am going to start that next week. I need to catch you up, so you aren't missing out on anything.

Yesterday was Easter and oh boy wasn't the weather beautiful! After Church, my family came back to my house for an Easter dinner. We took a few pictures which didn't turn out so well-maybe because we were focused on eating and not picture taking, LOL. Here are a few pictures...

This is the Hubs, Me, and Bentley.

My Brother, Mom, and Dad (he "couldn't see...").

After enjoying our nice Easter dinner, we went to go visit my sister and her family in Anderson. It was nice to visit with them because we don't get to see each other much except on Facebook. She gave me a BUNCH of baby clothes for Mr. Bentley, so I am excited about putting them up and organized! My Easter Sunday was fun and I enjoyed every minute of it!
