A late Hubby Monday

So as Megan said earlier, What a weekend! We had a jammed, slammed, action packed weekend. Ok, so maybe its wasn't as action packed as I may make it out to be, but it sure was busy.

Friday morning our friend Pam came in. She spent the whole day with Meg and Mr. Bentley. I was working for the firsth half of the shift, then came home the back half so I could spend a little time with my family and friends. We started the weekend off with a Bonfire and smores! It was pretty nice to feel the heat of a fire, the smell of the smoke, and the taste of marshmallows and chocolate.

The next morning we took Bentley and Pam to the "Pumpkin Festival" in Pumpkintown. Now only in SC will you have places named Pumpkintown, or Possum Kingdom. Regardless, it was a great time. My favorite part was Bentley getting lost in the pumpkin patch. It was adorable. Pictures are all over.

After that we had fall pictures taken for Bentley. They look AMAZING!! Sure Jennifer does a great job, but its because Bentley is so darn good looking. He gets it from his da.... Mommy! LOL!!
Wild Wings was where we ended our night for dinner. It was swamped downtown. We saw a ton of people under the influence of alcohol, even some people we knew.

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. Apparently I missed that memo. We went to Sky Top Orchards in NC to pick apples as a family. Well heres the dilemma. It being the middle of Oct. all of the apple tress closest to the entrance were bare. So were the trees a little further, and a little further than that. ALL THE WAY down a number of hills were the most amazing apples. I didn't realize there were that many types of apples. A lady and husband walked by us at one point and she asked what kind of apples we had. I told her "round". Her husband laughed hysterically, but she didn't take it quite so well. Oh well. Me and Ben pushed this wagon up a ridiculous mountain trek with 3 baskets and the rest of the junk on. It made me realize one thing, I'm sure in shape. The shape of an apple!!! I need to hit the weights and hit the trails. Overall it was an enjoyable day with everyone.

We got back to a slow sleepy afternoon. We cooked dinner and then finished the night off with another bonfire. So how about them miners huh. I started really thinking about that situation and it made me wonder. How many times have mines collapsed here in the states and after days the miners are dead, and the bodies almost never recovered. The mines in Chile held up for almost 3 months, they were able to get food and water to the miners, and they eventually organized a re-drill and rescue. Man, and here I thought we were the smartest country.... (sarcasm). Well, I hope the powers that be were taking notes for similar situations here in the states.

Ok, so Megan is starting a pretty cool new project. I will let her blog about it when she is ready, but its pretty cool. I'm not going to lie. Ya'll have a good night.
